On 17th July 2024, Red Card delivered gambling harm awareness education to non-league football team Faversham Town FC Academy.

Thanks to funding for the Football Non-League Gambling Awareness Project, we are able to offer our gambling harm awareness workshops to non-league football clubs in London, the Home Counties and the Midlands area with NO CHARGE to the club or players.

Red Card Secures Funding for Educational Project to Reach Ethnic Minority Groups and Women

Red Card is pleased to have secured funding from Gamble Aware for its project  IMPROVING OUTCOMES for ethnic minority communities affected by gambling harms.

The project is a 6-month pilot, initially running until November 2024. If successful, we hope to get the project extended for another 18 months.

The project’s aim is to raise awareness of gambling harms within the African, Caribbean, and South Asian communities, and to help remove the stigma associated with problem gambling.

Gambling Awareness Workshop Delivered to Harry Salt House, Mental Health Charity in Coventry

On July 3rd, Red Card delivered our gambling awareness workshop to 16 residents at the Harry Salt House in Coventry, in partnership with the mental health charity Mind.

We will be doing more workshops with the charity going forward, highlighting the links between problem gambling and mental health.

Red Card’s Gambling Awareness for Non-League Football – Redditch United, 6th December 2023

Red Card delivered a session to two academy groups for Redditch United FC prior to a match on Wednesday 6th December.

We delivered the workshop to over 30 aspiring footballers, talking to them about the issues surrounding gambling harms.

Thanks to funding for the project, we are able to offer our gambling harm awareness workshops to non-league football clubs with NO CHARGE to the club or players.

We will be delivering our gambling awareness workshops at Winchmore School Enfield from October 2018.

The aim of these workshops is to educate all year groups including 6th form about the potential impact of problem gambling. We are delighted to now be a trusted partner enrolled in the school PSHE lessons to help students understand the dangers and the negative impact of problem gambling.

This week Tony attended the Gordon Moody Gambling Awareness event at the House of Commons. The Gordon Moody Association is a registered charity with over 40 years experience in providing residential support and treatment for people who are severely addicted to gambling. Fellow ex footballer Gary Brooke joined Tony at the event.
