Main Services

Preventing the development of a gambling addiction is one of our key goals. Many people don’t understand how easy it can be to get hooked on gambling and how much you could lose. We offer a full range of services to help problem gamblers and support those affected by problem gambling. Here’s an outline of how we can help with your gambling addiction.

Individual Therapy

All individual gambling addiction therapies are provided by one of our dedicated addiction therapists. All of our therapists are fully qualified and accredited. These therapies include:

Referrals

We work with recognised addiction agencies and are always looking for opportunities to work with new ones.

Following discussion with you, and where appropriate, we’re happy to assist with referrals to addiction treatment agencies and organisations.

Referrals through GamCare: To support people with gambling disorders, Red Card have partnered with GamCare, one of the leading UK treatment providers in the uk. Red Card will refer anyone to Gamcare who is suffering gambling harm and/or seeking support with gambling.

After referral, GamCare will offer an assessment before providing expert support.

Presentations & Workshops

Presentations and workshops are delivered by Tony Kelly and/or a qualified therapist. They are designed to educate all those who may be suffering with their gambling issues, as well as professionals, managers, employers, teachers, mentors, youth workers, probation workers, etc, who want to learn more about all aspects of gambling addiction.
Our tailored workshops and presentations aim to raise awareness of gambling addiction. These are ideal for schools, colleges, universities and young adults in general. Here’s a video showing highlights of one of our gambling addiction workshops.
School Presentation
In order to raise this awareness we have developed a presentation, based on Tony’s experience as a gambling addict. These inspirational talks are designed to highlight how easily you can become addicted to the many forms of gambling available, the losses both monetary and social, that can occur, and how hard the battle to overcome addiction can be.

Although the aim of these talks is to act as a deterrent, they are delivered in an upbeat and entertaining style with an emphasis on the help and support available to people who feel that they are in danger of becoming an addict, or that have already developed an addiction.

Telephone Consultation

Get advice and support to help with your gambling addiction with free, confidential telephone support. Our initial discussion with you will enable us to establish how we can help or point you in the direction of the appropriate problem gambling service.

Cost/Prices

The standard presentation is around 2 hours long including time for questions but this can be tailored to your audience or venue. Fees for our workshops, talks, and presentations can be tailored to meet your needs and your budget. Here are some of the testimonials from agencies we work with and clients who have used our problem gambling services.

I think there needs to be more education on the potential dangers of gambling and the programmes that Red Card provide in schools are crucial to teach early what can happen if you develop a problem with gambling. The fact that Tony can use his own experience in these educational workshops is even more effective. It is so important that gambling awareness is promoted amongst young people so they can be aware of the patterns and signs of problem gambling.

This summer The Challenge will have the pleasure of partnering with Tony Kelly on our National Citizens Service Programme. Tony will be introducing a group of young people in Enfield to the world of gambling addiction, encouraging them to think about the issues related to this and setting them a challenge to work on in their teams.

Tony’s openness when sharing his lived experience and knowledge of gambling addiction suggested he would make a great partner for our programme this year. By sharing his own experiences and reaching out to young people Red Card will help us all build a better understanding of gambling addiction and how we can work together to spread awareness of this.

We hope this is the beginning of a larger partnership which allows us to introduce a diverse group of young people to issues surrounding problem gambling.

Associate Programme Manager National Citizens Service Programme.

When I first started as Chief Executive at Gordon Moody Association, I met Tony Kelly at an event along with one of his colleagues and he invited me to meet up to discuss what Red Card do and also to help me better understand gambling addiction and the gambling industry as it was new to me. Fast forward a few months and we had arranged for Tony and a member of his team to attend our residential treatment centre in Beckenham to discuss his story, what Red Card aims are and to discuss working together and creating pathways for referrals into each other’s services.

Our team in Beckenham found Tony to be a very approachable, honest and kind hearted person who himself had been in gambling addiction. Our team and Red Cards were able to discuss the programmes which each party are delivering and understand better the roles that each organisation takes on. Red Card promote much needed awareness and education of gambling addiction.

We thank Red Card for their time and for Tony in sharing his lived experience at the event, and we look forward to continuing our positive working relationship.
